R10 000 for racist SMS
12/05/2008 14:19 - (SA)
Durban - A domestic worker - who complained that her former employer had sent a racist SMS about her - was given an apology and a R10 000 "settlement" at the Durban Equality Court, the Mercury newspaper reported on Monday.
The matter was in its finality at court on Friday when Cameron Forsyth of Waterfall handed over the money to Zandile Magubane and said he was sorry.
Magubane laid the complaint with the court and the SA Human Rights Commission after receiving an SMS from Forsyth, clearly not intended for her.
It read: "Try to call this k..... bitch from a private no. She's not answering my calls."
