Supermarket robbers face jail

Nelspruit - Five men implicated in the murder of two supermarket guards and theft of items worth over R60 000 will be sentenced on Tuesday in the Middelburg circuit of the Pretoria High Court.
They were found guilty on Friday when they appeared in the Nelspruit circuit court.
They were charged with robbing Peter's Cash and Carry in KaMhlushwa south of Malalane in Mpumalanga and killing guards Philemon Shabangu and John Sihlangu just before midnight on March 20 2004.
The guards were found dead the next day, lying side by side with their hands still tied behind their backs.
The bakkie of one of the accused, January Baloyi, 35, of Mzinti, was used to transport the stolen goods.
Baloyi, as well as Siboniso Mahlalela, 18, of Mzinti, Celuxolo Dlamini, 33, of Mangweni and Paul Nkuna, 25, of Block B were found guilty of two counts of murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances and the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Bheki Ngcongwane, 19, of Mzinti was found guilty of the robbery only.
A sixth accused, Sibongakonke Chief Dlamini, 38, was acquitted.
A seventh accused, Emmanuel Mbombi, had turned State witness.
