Still fighting
Desmond Tutu is showing no signs of slowing down as he turns 77, and is still an advocate for justice.

Cape Town - The family of Springbok rugby player Schalk Burger has released a statement confirming that it was his sister who was raped.

Talk Radio 702 on Thursday morning reported that the family confirmed René Burger, 20, was last week kidnapped, assaulted and raped in Cape Town.

The family's full statement would be released later.

Police have meanwhile released an identity kit of one of the men involved in the kidnap and rape of Burger.

A big reward has also been offered for anyone with information, which would lead to the arrest and conviction of this suspect.

The identity kit was compiled with the help of the complainant. She could only remember his face because she lost consciousness soon after her kidnap and assault. The man sat on the back seat of the car next to her.

The student was attacked on May 5 at Tygerberg hospital as she got out of her car.

Police spokesperson captain Marie Louw said Burger had received counselling after she was released from hospital.

Anyone with any information can contact inspector Ricardo Mcree on 021 592 7092 or 082 559 4598.
