Man dies after shot at 4x in bed

Pretoria - A man has died in hospital after robbers shot him four times. One of the shots was to his head.

The 28-year-old man from Lynnwood was shot after the robbers broke into the home he shared with his mother.

He woke up on Friday morning at about 04:40 when two men shone a flashlight in his eyes, said police spokesperson, captain Colette Weilbach.

"They aimed a weapon at him. He wrestled with the robbers and they fired four shots at him, three of which hit him," said Weilbach.

The suspects possibly gained access to the house through a window without burglar bars.

The men fled with a cellphone.

Although is condition was initially described as stable, he died later on Friday morning. - Sapa
