Johannesburg - A 38-year-old woman burnt to death when her shack caught fire at Mamelodi in Pretoria on Saturday, police said.

Inspector Michael Mbewe said the woman's husband was not home when the incident occurred at 01:00.

The cause of the fire was still unknown. Police were investigating, said Mbewe.
