Speeding doc's case struck off
10/06/2008 13:17 - (SA)
Johannesburg - A Waterkloof doctor, caught for drunken driving and speeding, had his case struck from the roll in the Midrand Magistrate's Court, the Star reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, the case was struck off on Monday due to a discrepancy in the dates on the docket.
"Why is it that we have two dates on the same matter?" Magistrate R Reddy asked, referring to June 9 and 11 on the docket.
The doctor was arrested for drunken driving and speeding at 213km/h on Sunday morning.
Metro spokesperson Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said the man was so drunk he could not even stand.
