Johannesburg - A Soweto petrol attendant was killed on Sunday by customers who refused to pay for their petrol, said Gauteng police.
Inspector Kay Makhubela said the attendant at an Engen garage in Zola North was shot four times and stabbed on Sunday morning.
People in a red car came to the garage earlier, had petrol put in and then left without paying after an argument with the attendant.
As the attendant was going home after work, the occupants of the red car were waiting for him. They shot and stabbed him.
Police are searching for the killers.
Wanted for two murders
Makhubela also said police arrested 137 people at road blocks in various parts of Soweto on Saturday.
In Moroka, 42 people were arrested, in Protea Glen 34 and in Naledia and Jabulani 61 people were arrested for crimes ranging from murder to malicious damage to property, assault, and possession of unlicensed firearms.
A man arrested for murder at Moroka was also a wanted suspect in a Krugersdorp murder case, said Makhubela.
