Johannesburg - Two alleged armed men were arrested minutes after a robbery at a fast-food store in Springs, police said on Monday.

Captain Johannes Ramphora said the suspects were arrested after a tip-off about a robbery in progress in Third Street.

"Police sped to the scene immediately. On arrival, there was a shoot-out with the suspects,", said Ramphora.

The two were expected to appear before Springs Magistrate's Court on Monday on charges of armed robbery and attempted murder.
