100 arrested at roadblocks

Johannesburg - About 100 people were arrested for various offences at roadblocks in Soweto over the weekend, Gauteng police said on Monday.
Inspector Kay Makhubela said roadblocks were conducted in Jabulani, Zola and Naledi on Saturday and Sunday.
"We arrested 67 of them for public drinking and the 33 were arrested for murder, assault, shop lifting and fraud", he said.
They were expected to appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Monday.
