Knysna woman found murdered

Johannesburg - A 28-year-old woman reported missing by her mother early on Tuesday afternoon was found dead in Knysna, Southern Cape police said.

Captain Malcolm Pojie said the murdered woman was last seen at her workplace on Monday.

An intensive land and sea search was launched shortly after she was reported missing around noon. She was eventually found around 16:00 on Tuesday after her car was found parked at the Coney Glen viewpoint.

Her body had been hidden under bushes about 30 metres from her car, approximately 2.5 metres from a foot path leading to the viewpoint.

Forensic experts, including a pathologist were by Tuesday night still conducting preliminary investigations and examining the scene.

Pojie said it was too early to determine the motive for the murder. An autopsy would be conducted to establish the cause of death.
