SA's Russian visit concluded

Cape Town - Speaker of the National Assembly Dr Frene Ginwala led a successful parliamentary delegation to Russia on Sunday which was concluded in Petersburg on Friday, Parliament announced on Saturday.
In a statement, secretary to Parliament Sindiso Mfenyana said in the course of five days the delegation held important meetings with significant personalities and office-bearers of the Federal Assembly (Parliament) of the Russian Federal State.
"There was mutual exchange of experiences and exploration of areas for future interaction and co-operation at the levels of bilateral as well as multilateral relations," Mfenyana said
Among these were the chairman of the State Duma (equivalent to the Speaker of National Assembly), the First deputy Chairperson of the Council of Federation (equivalent to the Deputy Chairperson of national Council of Provinces), and the Deputy Chairperson of the ruling Unity Party.
The delegation also met with a Parliamentary group on relations with African Parliaments.
Ginwala then proceeded to Addis Ababa to attend the first meeting of the Steering Committee of the African Union on the Pan African Parliament, scheduled for Monday (April 28), while the rest of the delegation returned home.
