Johannesburg - The co-leader of the newly formed National Action party, Cassie Aucamp, has resigned as leader and member of the Afrikaner Eenheidsbeweging (AEB).
Aucamp had to seek a high court order to retain his parliamentary seat two months ago. This followed him being suspended by the AEB whose membership is meant for Afrikaners or whites only.
Aucamp was advocating for membership to include all South Africans.
His case was made easier by the window period of the floor crossing legislation, allowing him to form the National Action and retaining his seat.
Aucamp said he would devote his time to building the new party.
