'Pretoria the name for 2010'

Cape Town - The Freedom Front Plus has called for a meeting with Soccer World Cup local organising committee CEO Danny Jordaan and the local organising committee (LOC) in Pretoria to ensure the city's name is used during the 2010 event.
"This follows media reports that Tshwane metro council had insisted that all advertising material refers to Tshwane instead of Pretoria," said FF+ MP Willie Spies on Wednesday.
This was in spite of the fact that the name change had not been approved.
"The name Tshwane is not an approved place name and there are good grounds to argue that the process which has been followed to date, as in the case of Louis Trichardt, will not be able to stand the test of an open court.
"The metro council is playing with fire if it tries to force its will on the LOC," warned Spies.
Tshwane was merely the name of a municipality, which consisted of various towns and cities, including Pretoria.
"If needs be, the FF Plus will approach a court to ensure that the name of Pretoria is respected by the LOC," said Spies.
