Johannesburg - Jacob Zuma has been voted in as leader of the African National Congress at the party's 52nd National Conference.

Zuma was seen by many as the front-runner in a bruising contest with President Thabo Mbeki.

They were the only two names put forward for the top post at a conference plenary on Monday night.
