Zuma is the man.. 19/12/2007 14:11
Everyone says Zuma is a criminal. Who said Mbeki's hands are clean?? They are both on the same platform. Another one has been protected with the name PRESIDENT of the country. If JZee goes down, then others will follow! - Lebsa - Lebogang |

Zuma for the poor??? 19/12/2007 14:13
I wonder why are people thinking that Rev. Kanga is for the poor? Could it be that he is seen to be "in touch" with the masses? Which politician doesn't do that when they want to be elected? Personally I'm very worried of what is to happen after he's at the helm. He has surrounded himself with the leftists who want to ruin all the gains we have achieved so far for personal gain. He has no choice but to budge to their pressure, remember he has no clear economic policies (not very educated remember - Aviwe |

At last a leader to unite all classes 19/12/2007 14:16
The working class have spoken and I think and strongly believe that Mr Zuma is not a fool who will want to see a country that he fought for go into ashes, he is a true leader that can unite the elite and the working class. - Makasane Sono |

Zuma 19/12/2007 14:18
A dark day for South Africa, it shows the calibre of people that voted for him...
they dont care about his dubious past, or the fact that he never had a formal education... God help this country as we are going to need it. No wonder Africa is a poverty stricken mess.

The people have spoken a democratic process has been followed let us respect the results. Unfortunately countries are not run on the barometer of morals because then all of us morally will be found wanting. Those who have no sin may cast the first stone Viva Msholozi 100% Zuma - dlagamandla |

i honestly believe that it is the right choice since the whole of anc have been dominated by one speaking nation maybe then they will defeneltly change the policy of the p[arty mostly about the illegal immigrants that are ruling this beutifull country - mkv |

Where to now? 19/12/2007 14:20
Most of my friends are leaving the country. Day by day I see them off. Should I go to? and where should i go? I love my country. I love my home and I love my job! Is is this the end of South Africa ? Does Zuma mean the end of our future here? As a tax payer and a citizen of this country I will not go! White or black lets all stand together and prove the world wrong. Lets build our nation, lets show the rest of Africa that we are truly the rainbow nation. - Vaughan |

New ANC President 19/12/2007 14:25
I write with sadness in my heart. I am a young black woman who lost family & friends during the apartheid regime. But looking at who is elected 2 run the party, erases the sacrifices that people fought & died for.
I have a 3yr old girl who I wonder will she have 2 grow up without the freedom to wear a skirt because it's inviting man? Will her 'No' be intepreted as 'Yes' 2 some man because they are African man?
Something 2 think about. Come 2009, I 4 1 WILL vote a white government back in power! - Anonymous |

Zuma is for the poor 19/12/2007 14:29
FIRST ZUMA HAS NEVER HELPED THE POOR BEFORE, HE JUST PLAYING MR. NICE GUYS ABOUT BEING THE PEOPLE'S PERSON, HE STILL HAS TO PROVE THAT TO THE NATION.HE MUST STILL HAVE HIS DAY IN COURT IN ORDER TO PROVE TO THE NATION THAT HE'S NOT THE CRIMINAL AS BEING LABELLED.
MR. PRESIDENT (MBEKI)IS THE MOST SELFISH LEADER IN THE 94YEARS OF THIS HUGE ENTITY. WHEN HE BECAME THE PRESIDENT OF THE PARTY HE WAS UNOPPOSED BUT WHY NOW,R.S.A. WILL BE BETTER WITHOUT HIM.
BOTH MEN DON'T DESERVE TO RULE THIS COUNTRY. - Sabelo Masimini |

The Nation will heal 19/12/2007 14:34
The nation will ultimately heal and go along normally after the shocking news of what is seen as a "hijack of the ANC". What counts is the policy of the ANC which no fundamental changes are forthcoming. The issue of faces behind matters less. Offcause thing as they are will not be easy to accept but it's only a question of time before we accept Zuma as our Leader. - Qonda |

Zuma 19/12/2007 14:44
I'm always amazed when people discuss South Africa and our politics in a first world related context. This is Africa that we live in, not Europe, and the rules, standards and norms are set to African levels. Long rule Jacob Zuma, viva! - Philip Snyman |

He is not an Angel... 19/12/2007 14:48
Lets stop looking at the negatives about JZ. Why can't we give him a chance to lead his organisation and go through court process because he is innocent until proven guilty. I like him because he is a humanitirian at heart. I am not saying he is an Angel but he does not live in the company of Saints either...Many of us will be suprised if he recharged and high profiled people enter the dock alongside him. - OT |

Zuma as president of the country 19/12/2007 14:51
I think, the vores reflect the will of the peaple and it was a democratic Vote. More importantly they reflect that 60% of our people are illiterate. I dont think that he is the man for the country as much as he is for the peaple - Tshepo |

Enough is Enough 19/12/2007 14:54
I think Thee President (TM) has dugged his own grave by trying to tarnish the image of JZ. It is about time he has a taste of his medicine. People need to remember that ANC doesn't belong to anyone and that's what made Mbheki not to have enough support, same goes to JZ if he becomes like Mbheki. Young people especially blacks need to learn as much as they can for us to be able to identify leaders out of them. There is abundance of negative information out there that is misleading young people. - Thabo |

Which Poor? Business comes First!!! 19/12/2007 14:58
There is nothing like 'for the poor'.Any leader/party that think can focus on the poor and neglect the capitalist business is living in a dreamland.Business create jobs for the poor, environment for business to flourish must be created,no room for SACP,COSATU.Zuma is hungry, corruptible, hurt & dangerous. At least he has good team around him to keep check.SA is bigger than any individual, but business rules. We make money during these uncertain times. Thanks

Yeah right! 19/12/2007 14:58
Zuma is for the poor: what a joke! It will just be a different set of cronies lining their own pockets. The country should not be beholden to 4000 ANC party hacks been completely churlish in choosing a new leader. The ANC is a party in crisis and hopefully this event will bring about a grand opposition coalition, including a renegade group from the ANC, to challenge these guys. This country can do better in 2009 and we don't need to put up with these guys in perpetuity. - Longbow |

We need blessings from GOD 19/12/2007 15:10
What has ZUMA done for the poor so far in such that all the negativity that surrounds him should be forgotten? After a couple of years I just CANNOT seem to get over the fact the he deliberately got himself HIV +, even if I?m drunk I can never fail to make a right decision in that situation and I?m not even expecting a 15 year old to he deliberately get himself HIV +. Not to mention his comments afterwards?what is this saying about our future president or rather our future. GOD bless South Africa - help |

Zuma as president of the country 19/12/2007 15:16
I fill great if zuma becomes the president of the coutry. The first president was the xhosa speaking, the second and the third but not the forth, its totaly unfair, let us get someone different.I was totally distubed oneday when my wife was looking for a job from wateraffairs, and they asked her if knows sexhosa, and she said know, they said she cannot get a job.Thats where i started hated this thing. - D.p maseko |

There was no competition for Zuma 19/12/2007 15:19
Well, Zuma has won. Not because he was the best candidate. There was no other option for those who wanted change in leadership. Change is good and change is pain. Looking at the company Zuma keeps, it does not paint a good picture of what one can expect from him as a leader. He is surrounded by hooligans. He is their stepping stone to positions of power. It's payback time President Zuma. - Musatondwa |

Mandy, please hurry up what are you waiting for? To Lana, my child, please learn some manners. In Afrcian custom, you do not speak like that about the elderly. Note that the so called rape trial was just to try and humilate Mr Zuma so that he does not run for ANC presidency. - Proudly SA |

President 19/12/2007 15:22
I'm glad Zuma has won. I don't want a leader who holds on to power forever. We are a democratic society - let the democratic processes unfold and dictate. We know some leaders who want to rule until death doeth them part. - Alpheus Mashiapata |

Msholozi, ANC PRESIDENT 19/12/2007 15:29
Goodbye for those who intend to leave the country. It seems that some sections of our society still cannot accept democratic processes and outcomes. My advice to them is to seek out ANC branches where they will be able to influence these processes in order for them to deal with the outcomes constructively. There is still a whole lot of work to be done to improve the living conditions of South Africans. Let them rest assured that they are welcome any time they decide to relocate. - majority rule |

zuma 19/12/2007 15:36
If Zuma's supporters had brains , they would have showed them by not being so disruptive !I mean they behaved like youths who are impassive & irational !!!!!! Yet they were adults !
Even if Mbeki lost , I can assure you that his supporters are shrewd people with dignity & excellent reputations !
It's fine that JZ'S supporters kept their promise of giving him the votes !! BUT ...Will JZ return the favor ??? To all of them nogal !!
He might be keen , but will he deliver ??
