SA politicians don't 'click'
Obama did. But experts say local political parties don't understand the value of a techno-savvy campaign.
DA: We didn't copy Obama
Some say the DA's new logo bears a striking resemblance to a logo we've seen before.

  • Mbeki's absence at ANC 'right'
  • Johannesburg - President Thabo Mbeki arrived at the ANC's three-day national executive committee lekgotla in Midrand on Saturday, the SABC reported.

It was not known if Mbeki would be attending the lekgotla which started on Friday.

On Friday, ANC spokesperson Tiyani Rikhotso said ex-officio members, such as Mbeki and former president Nelson Mandela, were not obligated to attend lekgotla.

Members who were elected at the Polokwane conference in December were due to attend the meeting whereby they would be taken through the expected programme of the NEC for the year as well as their responsibilities.

Cabinet members were invited to attend on Saturday, when the government programme for 2008 and 2009 would be discussed.

"We will look at ways in which we can better enhance or have a better working relationship between those in government and those in the organisation," Rikhotso said.

The NEC was also expected to "formulate mechanisms" to put into effect the resolutions taken at the Polokwane conference.
