Cape Town - The Ginwala Commission of Inquiry has asked suspended National Prosecution Authority head Vusi Pikoli as well as the government to clarify statements made by the two parties in their respective submissions.

"A preliminary reading of the documents indicates the need to obtain greater clarification from the parties on some issues," the commission said in a statement on Monday.

The parties were asked to respond to the commission's questions of clarity by March 10.
