07/05/2006 14:37 - (SA)
Johannesburg - At least 140 metro police officers will be deployed outside the Johannesburg High Court on Monday when judgment is handed down in the Jacob Zuma trial.
Spokesperson chief superintendent Wayne Minnaar said on Sunday that this arrangement was due to the huge crowd expected to gather outside the court.
"Metro police will also monitor the night vigil to be held later this afternoon (Sunday) at various locations around the court," Minnaar said.
He also said Pritchard Street would be closed from 05:00 between Von Wielligh and Eloff Streets. Kruis Street would be closed between President and Pritchard streets.
"Motorists are advised to use President Street, Commissioner Street and Jeppe Street as alternative routes," said Minnaar.
