'Wall of shame' outside court
08/05/2006 13:05 - (SA)
Johannesburg - Anti-rape activists gathered at a "wall of shame" they erected outside Johannesburg High Court on Monday and began singing and protesting shortly after 09:00.
Displayed among their posters was a kanga, which former deputy president Jacob Zuma's rape accuser was believed to have worn on the night of the alleged rape in November last year.
A poster read: "This kanga is not an invitation (to sex)".
About 20 women sang a song in Zulu, which translated, said their sexual organs were their own property.
Zuma had denied the charge of rape and was on Monday morning listening to Judge Willem van der Merwe's judgement in the case.
