Henderson returns to Cobras

Cape Town - Western Cape Cricket have announced that Claude Henderson to the Cape Cobras squad for the 2008/09 season.
Born in Worcester in the Western Cape, Henderson represented Boland before signing up with Western Province in 1998/99. Henderson was then called up for national duty in 2001, playing his first game for South Africa against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo, before joining Leicestershire in England as a Kolpak player.
To date, Henderson's first class career stats are 654 wickets at an average of 31.57 with best bowling figures of 7-57, whilst a handy 18.93 average with the bat includes 13 fifties.
Cape Cobras coach, Shukri Conrad, was excited about the signing which brings the Western Cape-based player back to his origins in cricket. He added, "a player of Claude's experience and calibre is a huge asset for the Cape Cobras and I hope his experience will rub off on some of the young Cobras spinners we are busy grooming. I am excited to see how others will learn from his abilities."
The Cape Cobras kick off their season in the SuperSport Series away to the Diamond Eagles at the De Beers Diamond Oval in Kimberley on October 2, 2008 and start their pre-season preparations with a tour and match against the Warriors in Oudtshoorn in mid September.
