Johannesburg - Proteas and Cape Cobras opening batsman Herschelle Gibbs has been
found guilty of breaching Clause 1.4, of Cricket South Africa's Rules
and Code of Conduct which states that:
1.4 Participants shall not use crude or abusive language nor make
offensive gestures to any other Participant, Official or spectator.
Gibbs was severely reprimanded for his action and reaction following his
appearance in Johannesburg today before Cricket South Africa's
Disciplinary Commissioner, advocate Michael Kuper, SC.
Gibbs' appearance follows a report lodged by Match Referee Barry
Lambson, arising from an incident that took place during the Standard
Bank Pro20 Series match played between the Cape Cobras and the Dolphins at Newlands in Cape Town on March 26.
