Vettori injures bowling hand

Chelmsford - New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori should be fit for the first Test against England despite having two stitches to fix a finger injury on his bowling hand on Saturday.
The left-armer cut his forefinger on the second day of a tour match against Essex. The first Test of three starts on May 15 at Lord's.
"He's cut the first knuckle, at the top, across it on the underside of the finger," team manager Lindsay Crocker said. "There was a bit of blood but we thought maybe he might have done some other damage - so we wanted to get it X-rayed to see maybe whether there was a problem with the tendon or bone.
"But there are none of those - it's just a soft-tissue split and he's had two stitches."
Crocker said the stitches would be removed in "about a week."
Vettori is set to miss the rest of the Essex tour match and also the final warm-up match against England Lions starting at the Rose Bowl on Thursday.
"He wanted to play both these two games to get quite a few overs in. He's not going to get that opportunity now but should be right to play in the first test," Crocker said.
Vettori only arrived in England two days ago after cutting short his involvement in the Indian Premier League and only bowled 11 overs before he was injured.
