  • Shanghai - Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke joined Dutchman Robert-Jan Derksen at the top of the leadboard of the $2.3m Asian Open in the third round on Saturday.

Clarke notched two birdies to join overnight leader Derksen on six-under after nine holes, the pair opening a two-shot lead over Britons Robert Dinwiddie and Miles Tunnicliff and Taiwan's Lin Wen-tang.

France's Michael Lorenzo-Vera, joint second at the China Open in Beijing last week, moved to three-under with Digvijay Singh of India after a three-under 69.

Joint overnight leader Zhang Lianwei slid down the leaderboard after dropping three strokes early in his round.

Zhang, China's first victor on the European Tour, three-putted for a double-bogey on the fourth after spraying his tee-shot wide, then followed up with a bogey on the fifth.

Twice US Open champion Retief Goosen was six strokes off the lead with eight holes to play.
