Melbourne - The only Commonwealth nation to get a ranking at the 2004 Athens Olympics are Canada but both the Canadians and the Australians won medals at last year's world championships in Melbourne.
Two of the world's top 10 women will be competing at the Games and the rivalry between Australia's Monette Russo and England's Beth Tweddle will attract attention.
Australian gymnasts look strongest in the men's competition with only Canada's Brandon O'Neill likely to challenge their domination.
South Africa will have four men competitors and seven women competitors at this year?s Games.
