Paris - French President Jacques Chirac Wednesday wished London "good luck" in staging the 2012 Olympic Games after the British capital beat out Paris for the right to host the international sporting event.

He gave his reaction in a statement issued by his office in Paris as he was flying from Singapore - where the International Olympic Committee decision was made - to Scotland to attend a three-day G8 summit hosted by British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
