Durban - Natalie du Toit continued her dominant form at the IPC World Swimming Championships picking up her second gold medal on Monday evening.
The 22-year-old missed out on a second world record by just 0.48secs, as she beat perennial silver medallist Stephanie Dixon and her Canadian teammate Darda Geiger in the women's S9 100 metres freestyle.
Du Toit said: "The world records are my own records, so when I jump into the pool it's a matter of bettering my own times.
"I just want to keep my times consistent and I'm happy about going under the 1min 02secs mark. I'm not too concerned about world records."
The Capetonian, who holds five world records, clocked a time of 1min 01.56secs, as she cruised ahead of Dixon (1min 05.22secs) and Geiger (1min 07.03secs).
14-year-old is star
The rising star of South African disabled swimming, Charl Bouwer, claimed bronze in the gruelling men's S13 400m freestyle.
The Kimberley student, who swam a time of 4mins 29.01secs, was beaten to silver by Ukrainian Danylo Chufarov (4mins 27.85), while Charalampos Taiganidis from Greece won gold in a time of 4mins 25.58secs.
Meanwhile American Jessica Long has been the star of the show at the King's Park Aquatic Centre.
The 14-year-old has won five gold medals at the Championships thus far, three of them in world record time.
