SABC awarded Olympic TV rights

Johannesburg - The International Olympic Committee has awarded the broadcast rights for the Olympic Games in 2010 and 2012 to South African public-service broadcaster SABC.
SportBusiness.com reported that under the deal, the SABC will offer increased coverage of the 2010 Winter Games and the 2012 Summer Games across a number of TV channels, including a commitment to air over 200 hours of live or same-day delayed coverage of the London 2012 Games.
The deal also includes the rights across all platforms including satellite, cable, internet and mobile as well as satellite rights for sub-Saharan Africa.
