Swimmers win four gold for SA

Algiers - South Africa won four swimming gold medals and set three All Africa Games records at the All Africa Games in Algiers on Thursday.
Troyden Prinsloo won the men's 400-meter freestyle, and Melissa Corfe added another gold in the women's 100 freestyle. Cameron van der Burgh won gold in the men's 100 breaststroke and the women's 4x200 freestyle team added the fourth gold as South Africa won 10 of the 18 medals Thursday.
Olympic gold medallist Kirsty Coventry of Zimbabwe and Jason Dunford of Kenya also set competition records. Coventry won the women's 400m medley in 4 minutes, 39.91 seconds, and Dunford won the men's 100m butterfly in 53.40.
Basketball, soccer and boxing also began at the All Africa Games, which run until July 23.
