Valencia - The upcoming World Indoor Championships will see a record number of participating nations, the International Association of Athletics Federation said on Thursday.

A total of 159 nations will compete in Spain from March 7 to 9, up from the 139 that competed in Budapest, Hungary, four years ago. Moscow welcomed 129 countries at the last edition in 2006.

Tickets for the event at the Lluis Puig Velodrome, which will host the last major international athletics competition ahead of the Olympic Games in August, have already sold out.
