Misano, Italy - Michael Schumacher finished fourth in his first official motorbike race on Sunday.

The retired seven-time Formula One champion started the minor KTM series race in the front row but got off to a slow start and dropped back to 11th after the first lap.

Schumacher then picked up his pace and registered the second fastest lap of the race on his penultimate trip around this track near Italy's Adriatic coast. He reached 204.8km/h at one point, the fastest speed of the day.

Schumacher finished 5.169 seconds behind race winner Andrea Padovani.

Schumacher retired from Formula One in 2006 after winning a record 91 races and 68 pole positions.
