Warm welcome for mountaineers
09/05/2008 19:24 Qomolangma - All the mountaineers who braved harsh weather conditions and the high altitude of Mount Qomolangma to carry the special Olympic flame to the world's highest peak returned safely on Friday.Leaders of the Tibet Autonomous Region, the Chinese Mountaineering Association and the Mount Qomolangma base camp rushed to the foot of the mountain to celebrate the team's victorious ascent and descent.
About 100 fans were on hand to congratulate the team upon their arrival back on flat land, braving very high winds and occasional flurries.
