Dublin - The Springboks have slipped further down the latest IRB World Rankings following their defeat against England at Twickenham.
According to the IRB website, Ireland have risen to third in the rankings with victory (21-6) over the Wallabies at Lansdowne Road, their highest position since October 2003.
Eddie O'Sullivan's side climbed two places, while Australia and South Africa both fall one after respective defeats to the Irish and English.
Andy Robinson's England halted their run of seven straight losses with victory over South Africa (23-21) and, while the win doesn't see them move up the rankings, their rating has improved by over a point to within 0.15 of sixth-placed Argentina.
New Zealand's second straight victory against the French (23-11), this time in Paris, has stretched their lead at the top of the rankings to their biggest margin yet - over eight rating points.
