Paris - Star South African lock Victor Matfield looks set to make his first appearance for French second division club Toulon on Saturday against La Rochelle after the club named him in their 22-man squad.
The World Cup-winning second row, who has not played a game since the World Cup final in October, joined the French side on January 1 on a six month contract which could be extended by a year.
"Victor is available. He will be in the group of 22 players picked by the coaches. It is not within my capacity to say what happens after that.
"Will he be picked for the starting XV? That is for the coaches to decide," said club president Mourad Boudjellal.
Matfield, 30, is not the first World Cup winner the French side has in their ranks.
The South African will stand beside England's 2003 World champion Dan Lugar and Australia's 1999 World Cup winning scrumhalf and most capped international George Gregan.
Toulon started the season firing on all cylinders and begin the New Year seven points clear at the top of the division, having lost once in nine games.
