Search for assistant coaches

Johannesburg - New Springbok coach Peter de Villiers' two assistants will only be announced after a thorough selection process which is "imminent", said the man entrusted with chairing the to-be-appointed selection committee, Jannie Ferreira.
The Lions president and member of SA Rugby's executive said he would sit down with De Villiers and the CEO of the SA Rugby Union, Johan Prinsloo, to decide on the procedures to be followed for the appointment.
Ferreira on Tuesday said the positions of the two assistant coaches would be advertised in the national press as a matter of urgency, "perhaps by the end of the week or definitely early next week. We hope to be able to announce the names of the assistants within a fortnight," said Ferreira.
The procedures to be discussed would to some extent overlap with those used for the appointment of the Springbok coach who was appointed last Wednesday after a selection process.
"Peter, who has to work with the assistants, will obviously be one of the members of the selection committee," said Ferreira. Prinsloo would also have sitting on the committee from a Saru perspective, with other members still to be invited.
De Villiers has been quoted that he would prefer Cheetahs coach Naka Drotske (forwards) and former Springbok coach Carel du Plessis (backs) as his assistants.
