Dublin - Former France captain Raphael Ibanez has been banned for four weeks for stamping on an opponent during his club Wasps' European Cup clash with Welsh side Llanelli Scarlets on January 13.

A disciplinary hearing on Thursday ruled that the hooker had stamped and/or trampled on Scarlets flanker Simon Easterby and imposed the four-week ban, which will run up to and including February 21.

Ibanez, who has retired from international rugby, has a right of appeal.
