A win for the Falcons at last

Johannesburg - The Falcons recorded their first Vodacom Cup victory when they defeated the Border Bulldogs 38-25 (half-time 14-17) in Reiger Park on Saturday.
Replacement winger Nicky Kritzinger ran in two late tries to help the Falcons defeat the Border Bulldogs.
The Falcons scored five tries to record their first win the Vodacom Cup competition and fullback Jacques Schutte converted all five and kicked a penalty for a 100% record on the day.
The game began in see-saw fashion, with the Falcons scrumhalf Gerrie Odendaal opening the scoring to put his side 7-0 in the lead.
Bulldogs flanker Dumisane Meslane scored shortly thereafter to equal the scores but outside centre Rouan Cloete ran in another converted try to put his side 14-0 ahead. Andisa Gqobo then scored, converted his try and kicked a penalty to put hi side in front 17-14 at the break.
Both teams traded penalties after the break, but Kritzinger scored twice in succession and winger Johan Swartz sealed the match before Border scored a consolation try.
Kritzinger came onto the field to replace Falcons winger Luvo Sogidashe when he was taken to hospital after a nasty knock to the head.
