Boks turn out for Cavaliers

Wellington - Almost half of Paul Treu's national Sevens rugby team could turn out for the Cavaliers in the Currie Cup competition this season.
While Boland's own Sevens Boks Renfred Dazel and Frankie Horne had already confirmed their availability for the side, Treu could also release Schalk van der Merwe and Jonathan Mokuena for the competition.
"Yes, we are in talks with Treu," Boland official Denver Pienaar confirmed.
It is believed that Treu is keen to give Van Schalkwyk and Mokuena as much game time as possible in the 15-man code.
Van Schalkwyk is a hard-working flanker who was already part of the Lions' Super 14 squad, while Mokuena, a No 8, has trained with Naka Drotske's Super 14 side.
The Sevens Boks will end the current IRB series in Edinburgh on June 1 and will then have a long break till the new season starts in Dubai in December.
Treu, however, also has a high regard for Mpho "Impi" Mbiyozo and he could also fit into Boland's plans.
Treu described Mbiyozo as a "destroyer with the ball in hand" and said he could not believe that no province had offered him a contract.
"I will definitely use him as an openside flanker in the 15-man code," Treu said.
And with match-winner Stef Basson almost ready to rejoin Treu's squad after a short spell of club rugby in Italy, it will come as no surprise if Boland coach Deon Davids makes use of his talents as well.
Basson hails from the Boland and could boost the Cavaliers in almost any position in the backline.
