Bok centre blow for Lions
24/07/2008 20:32 - (SA)
Johannesburg - Jaque Fourie will not play for the Lions in their Currie Cup match against the Sharks in Durban on Saturday. He has not recovered sufficiently from a groin injury.
Fourie's unavailability is a knock to his chances to regain his place in the Springbok side for the Test against Argentina on August 9 and the three home Tri-Nations Tests. Jaco Pretorius moves from wing to centre to replace Fourie.
Fullback Earl Rose has been moved to flyhalf due to an injury to Louis Strydom. Louis Ludik has been moved back to fullback and Heini Gordon takes his place on the wing with Ryno Benjamin back on the other wing to replace Pretorius.
There are no changes to the pack, but Anton van Zyl and prop Gert Muller are back on the bench after injury.
Team:
Louis Ludik; Heini Gordon, Jaco Pretorius, Doppies la Grange, Rayno Benjamin; Earl Rose, Jano Vermaak; Willem Alberts, Franco van der Merwe, Baywatch Grobbelaar (capt), Gerhard Mostert, Dewald Senekal, Lawrence Sephaka, Willie Wepener, Heinke van der Merwe. Replacements: Ethienne Reynecke, Gert Muller, Anton van Zyl, Justin Wheeler, Chris Jonck, Michael Killian, Dusty Noble.
