Blom in musical chairs

Port Elizabeth - Cheetahs scrumhalf Jandre Blom will start for the Griffons in their quest to beat the Elephants for the first time in 20 years in Port Elizabeth when the two sides meet in a Currie Cup First Division fixture on Saturday.
Blom found himself in a game of musical chairs this week, training with the Griffons on Monday, only to be called back to Bloemfontein to cover for a slightly injured Tewis de Bruyn in Friday night's game against the Falcons.
The Cheetahs have now agreed that Blom could make the trip top PE which means that the Griffons will start with an unchanged fifteen for the second week running.
Cheetahs flyhalf Jacques-Louis Potgieter has recovered from a neck spasm and both Darryl Coeries and Ashley Johnson are fit after suffering with bruised thigh muscles.
"We haven't beaten the Elephants at home in 20 years and that's our main aim. We cannot afford to slip another one after last weekend's narrow defeat against the Pumas," said coach Harry Pienaar.
The Griffons face the Leopards in Welkom next weekend and big lock Windpomp van Rooyen has been recalled to the bench to add weight to the pack for next weekend.
Griffons vs. Elephants: Cecil Afrika; Darryl Coeries, Giscard Pieters, Werner Griesel, Shane Hancke; Jacques-Louis Potgieter, Jandre Blom; Ashley Johnson, Nicky Steyn, Jonothan Mokuena, Ockie van Zyl, Isak van der Westhuizen, Gert Greyling, Andries Kruger, Sarel Louw.
Reserves: Tros Botha, Windpomp van Rooyen, Sandile India, Albert Parsons, Danny Theron, Kennedy Tsimba, Howard Noble.
