Rain washes out final ODI
03/09/2008 20:19 - (SA)
Cardiff - England claimed the one-day series against South Africa 4-0 after only three overs of the fifth and final match were possible due to heavy rain here on Wednesday.
After the start was initially delayed by two hours because of the weather, South Africa reached 6-1 before the heavens opened again to force the players off.
Stuart Broad dismissed South Africa opener Herschelle Gibbs for three in the second over of the innings when wicketkeeper Matt Prior took a brilliant one handed catch.
The 4-0 series result leaves England third in the ICC world one-day rankings as South Africa retain their second place.
