Johannesburg - A worker was killed during construction at the Peter Mokaba soccer stadium in Polokwane on Friday, the SABC reported.
The victim was killed when a concrete slab fell on him. He was loading concrete slabs on a crane with four of his colleagues when the incident happened.
Labour inspectors went to the scene.
WHBO (Wilson Bayly Holmes-Ovcon) Construction management said it suspected the accident could have been caused by negligence of workers as all safety measures were followed.
Construction work on site was suspended until Monday and the other four workers were taken for counselling.
