Johannesburg - Neil Tovey and Miguel Gamondi have been appointed joint coaches of title-chasing Premier
Soccer League club Mamelodi Sundowns until the end of the season.
Said Tovey on Monday: "This is a big challenge. We obviously did a good enough job in
December when we took over - after Angel Cappa resigned - and we aim to make the most of
the opportunity."
The two took over the last two matches in December, the team beating Black Leopards 5-1 at
home and thumping Dynamos 4-0 in Giyani. They took the Brazilians to the top of the Premiership at the end of the year.
However, Tovey is worried that the two-month long break for the festive season and the African Nartions Cup finals in Egypt will hamper Downs' progress.
"We could have done without the break. We were going great guns and looking good. I just hope the break does not hamper us in the title race," said Tovey.
