Rust, Germany - An international jury will select the prettiest woman of the World Cup in a competition nine days before the start of the football extravaganza in Germany, organisers said on Monday.
A total of 32 women - one from each participating nation - will be eligible to take part in the Miss World Cup contest in the southwestern town of Rust on June 1.
At the gala, the women aged from 18-28 will first appear in the football strip of the country they represent before changing to evening dress and then finally bathing costumes.
"Nothing like this has ever been done before," according to organiser Horst Klemmer, who is also responsible for staging the annual Miss Germany contest.
Klemmer said participants must be either born in the country they represent or hold its citizenship.
The winner will represent her country at various engagements and World Cup games during the competition, which runs from June 9 to July 9.
The organiser said the jury would consist of prominent figures from the world of sport and entertainment, but did not give any names. Sapa-dpa
