10/01/2007 11:40 - (SA)
Cape Town - The number of tourist visiting South Africa is growing faster than anywhere else in the world.
That's according to Tourism Minister Marthinus van Schalkwyk who says systems are being put in place to ensure that this trend continues ahead of the World Cup.
Van Schalkwyk who was speaking at a tourism exhibition in Utrecht, Holland on Tuesday, said the latest figures showed a 15.8% annual increase in tourism arrivals.
Turning to the World Cup, he said there would be an abundance of quality accommodation available.
"South Africa is delivering on its promise to ensure that visitors will be treated to a uniquely African experience. For the first time in World Cup history, non-hotel accommodation such as national park accommodation, lodges and guest houses will also be contracted."
