Galaxy: Becks injury no concern

Los Angeles - A fragile foundation to the American football universe was bolstered on Monday when Los Angeles Galaxy general manager Alexi Lalas said he was not worried about David Beckham's knee injury.
England star Beckham suffered a strained right knee ligament in Real Madrid's 1-1 Spanish league draw with Getafe on Sunday, the club saying Beckham will need about four weeks to recover.
US supporters and Major League Soccer, which in January signed Beckham to a deal worth $250m that begins in July, breathed a sigh of relief that the potential high-profile poster man for the sport was not seriously hurt.
"We are aware of the injury sustained by David Beckham on Sunday evening," Lalas said. "Obviously, we hope it's not a serious injury so he can get back to helping Real Madrid challenge for the title.
"We do not expect this injury to affect his arrival in Los Angeles or his debut with the Galaxy."
An exact date for that Galaxy debut has not been revealed but it cannot come until after his contract with Real Madrid ends in June.
Beckham is set to appear in every MLS city this season with the Galaxy, with many clubs using tickets to that match to help bolster season ticket sales.
