Torres passes Anfield medical

London - Spanish striker Fernando Torres passed a medical at Anfield on Tuesday and is expected to be confirmed as a Liverpool player on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old, who will cost a club record 23.5 million pounds, flew back to Madrid for a farewell press conference with Atletico after the tests.
He is expected to sign a six-year contract worth 90 000 pounds a week.
Djibril Cisse, who was on loan at Marseille last season, could also join Liverpool in a permanent deal, while Luis Garcia has joined Atletico for four million pounds.
But with new signing Andriy Voronin and Peter Crouch, Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt all on the books, another departure looks probable.
Manchester City have expressed an interest in Crouch, but speculation is that Bellamy is more likely to leave.
