Agu sets up beach soccer win
08/07/2007 16:32 - (SA)
Durban - Led by a five-goal haul from Garbile Agu, Nigeria came from behind to win the Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup 2007 Qualifier in Durban on Sunday with a narrow 6-5 victory over Senegal.
After trailing 3-0 midway through the first period, Nigeria slowly clawed their way back and after finding the net five times himself, Agu was on hand to supply the cross for Suleman Usman to score the winner four minutes from the end.
The game was a contest between the two strikers with Agu winning the war for his team, while at the other end of the pitch big Mamadou Diallo was just unable to do the same for Senegal.
The burly Diallow weighed in with three goals and two layoffs which allowed Victor Diagne and Mbengue Badiane to score, but it was just not enough.
