Madrid - Former Barcelona and Real Madrid star Luis Figo may join former Real clubmate David Beckham in Major League Soccer (MLS) next year, according to Alexi Lalas, president of the English star's new club Los Angeles Galaxy.
Lalas told Thursday's Marca sports daily said he believed Portuguese star Figo would head Stateside, although not to the Galaxy, when his Inter Milan contract runs out next summer.
Lalas also confirmed he had tried to woo another former Real star in Frenchman Zinedine Zidane, but without success.
Lalas said he offered the now retired 35-year-old World Cup winner 35 million euros for a one-year contract but that Zidane "did not want to come", adding that two other MLS sides - Chivas USA and Chicago Fire - had also tried to land the star.
