13/11/2007 08:58 - (SA)
Durban - Despite the ongoing strike at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium, KwaZulu-Natal is going all out to ensure that the 2010 Fifa World Cup Preliminary Draw which will be held in two weeks will be a resounding success.
KZN Premier Sibusiso Ndebele on Monday said that preparations are well on track.
The event will draw thousands of delegates and journalists from 204 countries.
"The totality of their experience must be such that they will want to come back to our province in the time leading to 2010 and beyond," he said.
Meanwhile, the National Union of Mineworkers has warned that strike would spread to other stadium construction sites around the country if its grievances are not resolved.
NUM and the Group Five-WBHO Consortium are deadlocked in their negotiations.
