US too strong for Bafana

Johannesburg - The United States recorded their second successive away win after a goal by Steve Cherundolo secured a 1-0 victory over South Africa in their Nelson Mandela Challenge friendly on Saturday.
Right-back Cherundolo, who plays for German side Hanover 96, struck from a tight angle in the 28th minute at Ellis Park.
The Americans also won 1-0 at Euro 2008 co-hosts Switzerland last month.
South Africa, who will host the 2010 Soccer World Cup, did most of the running in the second half but were unable to prise open the visiting team's defence.
Coach Carlos Alberto Parreira asked for patience from the fans of South Africa, who have won only one of their last seven internationals.
"I'm happy with the pressing in the second half and the way we created chances," Parreira told reporters.
"This is all part of the learning process but it was still disappointing to lose the game."
